Step 1 is so underrated and overlooked that people over look it even in posts like this one. Why? Because it's so obvious. If it were, we'd be owning businesses worth millions or be steamrolling our dream jobs with ease. Distractions are real. And we need to actively curb them.
Wakey wakey
This is a different kind of weird. It's like our bodies hate us. Also our minds. On days when our bosses are breathing down our necks, Mr mind would be like, "It's just a job honey, you can risk it for 5 more minutes of blissful sleep." God forbid such motivation come our way on holidays.
Task 1 - let's get to work
Task skipping is a contagious habit. Once you start, there's no end. And if this leech-like habit sticks to you from the start of your day, then you might as well bid adieu to productivity for the next 24 hours.
Hack the Google Docs
We all use Google Docs but we don't use use Google Docs. There's so much we can do without lifting a finger. And here we are, rearranging hand positions every time a new doc is to be added. Just look at this handy trick. And the many more that follow.

Caution: pup at work
Milo is also the necessary evil our corporation needs, but doesn't deserve. His heart-melting eyes will keep you from your work but will definitely bless your soul. Clients can wait. Milo is top priority.

![a black dachshund pup with brown markings sits on a desk next to a keyboard and monitor. he has a small orange collar, a yellow tag, and an undeniable smirk. there are two wrinkles on his back foot that could alone take an entire fortune 500 company offline for a week.](https://substackcdn.com/image/fetch/w_600,c_limit,f_auto,q_auto:good,fl_progressive:steep/https%3A%2F%2Fpbs.substack.com%2Fmedia%2FFfTdFfDWQA0dTrJ.jpg)
We kill meat to eat cheese
Like he's not wrong. That's what we do anyhow. Might as well make a meal out of it. Love how people have just accepted how off-putting our work ethic is and are now finding ways of integrating it into our routines. Brilliant.

It's a Rocky road to Philadelphia
The path to the finish line is never a straight line. Yet we can't stop fantasize about a linear road. Same thing with creativity. It's not an ability that you can lose forever one day. Rather, it's a power that needs recharging. Simple.
Another day, another tip-rush
That's how we roll. You spend more time with us, you'd find yourself buried under a hoard of amazing productivity tips and tools that'll change your life for the better. But that's enough self-obsession, let's dice into this super effective tip.

Reverse engineering should be a legit subject
That actually makes a lot of sense. The roots of our mainstream problems are often simpler and weaker than the actual issue they've given birth to. Instead of hacking at the problem's immovable trunk, pulling out its feeble roots would solve it for good. Basically, a little introspection is all we need.
Failure is never the end
If the most well-known inventor of all-time says that failure is never the end goal, you give it importance. The man probably failed a thousand times before achieving his dream that made him an ‘overnight success'. If he can push through 10,000 failures, we can certainly do it 100 times. At least.

Have you ever struggled with completing an assignment inside a given deadline? Obviously, duh. But the curious cases are the ones when the time given in the deadline is more than enough and you know that it is more than enough. Yet, you end up in a situation where you're meddling with it last-minute, in a highly stressful environment. So is it you who has an attitude problem? Or maybe, just maybe, it is the deadline that is causing you to procrastinate, over and over again. Well, if this question bugs you as well, check out our latest blog that explores the relationship between deadlines and procrastination.
